Perhaps the most controversial presidential campaign commercial ever aired, it is hard to grasp that it was only shown once, yet contributed to Johnson’s landslide victory in 1964.

The video and questions that accompany the video are an interesting teaching strategy in which to introduce presidential campaigning or the use of propaganda in politics. Making the connection with today’s political world will help the students understand how campaigning has an effect on voters. Having the students make their own commercial related to today will help them better understand the subject. I am looking forward to using this strategy in my classroom and I would like to hear any feedback from those who have used this video in the past.
